Dorie Byers, RN

Dorie Byers is a graduate of Indiana State University and a member of Sigma Theta Tau nursing honorary. She received her certificates in Master Gardening and Advanced Master Gardening through the Purdue University Extension Service and has spent many years growing herbs and researching their uses. She has certificates in Herbal Medicine through the Herbal Healer Academy and The School of Herbal Medicine. She has also published Herbal Remedy Gardens (Storey Communications, Inc.), and she is a contributor to and co-editor of Taste Life! The Organic Choice (Vital Health Publishing, Inc.). In addition to contributing to the book Storey's Basic Skills (Storey Communications, Inc.), she has been an Advisory Board Member and Expert Reader for The Complete Guide to Natural Healing. Dorie lectures, writes, and gives classes on many aspects of herbs throughout the Midwest and beyond.

Restaurant Review
Bonobo's Restaurant in NYC at 18 E. 23rd Street was a great recent find! We were heading for the subway stop when my 12-year-old noticed Bonobo's and begged to go in.

Bonobo's is a great find for those of us who want organic food in a hurry, and don't eat refined cane sugar.

The chef's are friendly, informative and offer samples from the display case at the front of the restaurant. You can't call it a 'cooking' area because everything at Bonobo's is raw! We tried their "signature" Red Pepper-Coconut Soup, and it is absolutely delicious!

I will never again drive south without going to DC! The Tabard is worth the stop to stay and to eat.
